Overview

Bulletproof Ukraine (hereinafter referred to as the “Bulletproof Ukraine“, “we”, “us”, “our” or “ours”) is a non-profit organization that is registered in the United Kingdom. 
Bulletproof Ukraine was created to organize a global decentralized effort to help Ukrainians and other nations and individuals who support Ukraine due to the Russian’s invasion of Ukraine, by supplying civilians with 5th protection class (DSTU Standard) bulletproof vests in the dangerous areas.  
This Data Protection Policy (hereinafter referred to as the “Policy“) describes how Bulletproof Ukraine as a data controller, collects, manages, uses, and protects Personal Data received in compliance with applicable privacy laws and regulations, including the EU General Data Protection Regulation.
The regulations cover all aspects of Personal Data and our obligations to identify what Personal Data we have, where it is obtained, why we may use it, how Personal Data is stored, with whom it may be shared, and under what circumstances.

Personal Data types

In essence, “Personal Data” is any information relating to an identifiable individual or from which an individual can be identified. Bulletproof Ukraine collects Personal Data that is limited to the kind of information that is necessary as part of our activities such for example but not exclusively: first name, last name, email address, phone number, relevant charitable foundation, or private office contact details, the reason for selection, payment methods.

Sources of Personal Data

We process Personal Data that is voluntarily or upon request provided to Bulletproof Ukraine in the course of donations or a campaign featured by Bulletproof Ukraine. In some instances, the Personal Data will be supplemented by information retrieved from public sources, such as online media and certain Personal Data may be automatically recorded for system administration, statistical, storage and security reasons, when an individual visits our website.  

Purpose of the processing of Personal Data

Bulletproof Ukraine processes Personal Data in the conduct of its activities as described in its Statutes and for the achievement of its statutory purpose.

Personal Data owner’s rights and preferences

In addition to the right to be informed about your Personal Data you are also entitled to:

  • access your Personal Data;

  • rectify inaccurate or incomplete Personal Data;

  • request deletion of your Personal Data (subject to the below-mentioned limitation);

  • restrict processing of your Personal Data (subject to the below-mentioned limitations);

  • obtain and reuse your Data;

  • object to particular processing(s) of your Personal Data subject to the below-mentioned limitations).

Please note that your objection or restriction to the processing of your Personal Data could prevent Bulletproof Ukraine from performing the actions necessary to achieve the purposes set out above. Please also note that the above rights can be limited. For example, we may need your Personal Data to comply with the law or assert or defend against legal claims. We may therefore be able to continue processing your Personal Data even after you have requested, for example, the deletion of your Personal Data, to the extent required or permitted by law.

Third Parties

Bulletproof Ukraine will not rent or sell your (personal) data to third parties. We may consider our justified interest, and share data if not in conflict with data privacy laws, to be able to use the services of these third parties, unabating the responsibility of these third parties and us to handle this data with care and responsibility. We may also share available data to comply with a competent governmental order/issue of a governmental institution with sufficient and effective jurisdiction.

We are not responsible for data that is gathered, stolen, or multiplied by a third party, without our permission, by an unlawful intrusion, a violation of a law or regulation, unabated our responsibility to take adequate measures to prevent such intrusion or violation.

Storage of Personal Data

Bulletproof Ukraine applies a general rule of keeping personal information only for so long as is required to fulfill the purpose for which it was collected. However, in some circumstances, we will retain your personal information for longer periods. We will retain personal information for the following purposes: (i) as long as it is necessary and relevant for our operations and to provide our service, e.g. so that we have an accurate record of your dealings with us in the event of any complaints or challenge; and (ii) after the provision of the service to comply with applicable laws, prevent fraud, resolve disputes, troubleshoot problems, assist with any investigation, enforce our Service terms and take other actions as permitted by law.

Modifications

Any modifications made to the present data protection policy will be published on Bulletproof Ukraine’s website. The published data protection policy on our website is the applicable and most up-to-date data protection policy.
